From 22 to 26 February, the Grand Hospitaller of the Order of Malta, H.E. Dr Josef Blotz, visited the Order’s humanitarian projects, accompanied by H.E. Ambassador Maria Emerica CCORTESE and Mr. Marwan SEHNAOUI, President of the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta.
The Grand Hospitaller had the opportunity to visit medical centers, mobile medical units, community kitchens and agro-humanitarian projects.
He also attended a lunch with elderly people and met volunteers and those receiving assistance. He visited a Syrian refugee camp assisted by the Order.
He also met with the Minister of Health, H.E. Dr. Rakan Nasreddine, and the nuns who run some of the Order’s centers.
The visit was characterized by a profound sense of closeness and solidarity and illustrated the Order’s work in a part of the Holy Land that has always been a model of cohesion and tolerance, despite adversity.
